The decision of my participation in the Work and Travel USA Program appeared suddenly and as a matter of fact turned my whole life upside down, fortunately in a positive meaning. It was the result of a deep goals searching on the way to achieve personal and professional success. We all know what it feels like to be at the cross roads in life for career and personal achievements, wondering about the next path or road that should be taken. From the distance I can only say that only spontaneous decisions are made to be the successful, providing that are a part of us and respond to our needs.
I consider the Work and Travel USA Program as extremely important, especially in my current life. As far as The Work is concerned, experiences gained on American job market are still valid. Each day was as a good lesson; an opportunity to check the strength of my character and ability to work sometimes under pressure of time and people’s needs. I have learned how to be patient, tolerant, created, responsible for own actions, open for different people and things. To me, the American society and a work environment was the first place where I could touch a “live” work in various properties of the hotel industry. I gained understanding of varied tasks starting from a housekeeping department and ending on Human Resources assistance. I was working very hard to understand what “a commitment to excellence” stands for. My employers taught me how to be humble and effective at work and now I know that there is no job beneath me...
It was always my dream to save own money and Travel; to get to know American people, to touch such a different culture, to visit and admire the most popular hot spots on the East and the West coasts of America. The Work and Travel USA Program has widened my horizons - my life become easier and full of rainbow colors :).
